“I knew that when this conversation started last year, the world wouldn’t be ready for this yet,” says Jeff Ng, founder of Staple. “I’m not even sure if it’s still ready for it.” That “it” Jeff is referring to is our limited edition collection of three new shoes – designed and created in collaboration with the cult New York-based brand.

Reinterpreting the idea of past, present and future, we’ve crafted the Tawyer Twist and Tawyer Helix – as well as a rework of our iconic Clarks Originals Wallabee shoe. A collaboration that pays homage to our storied history, it’s also firmly rooted in the future.

Wallabee Pigeon: Representing the past, we took the Wallabee silhouette and applied Staple’s signature Pigeon colourway. Using a smooth grey leather upper and a red outsole on the shoe’s traditional crepe bottom, it’s Staple through and through – instantly recognisable across the globe.
Tawyer Twist: Our second shoe in the collection – the Tawyer Twist – is all about today. Featuring rich, tonal navy blues in suede and leather, it’s a modern reflection of the past. With a helix design wrapped around the shoe, a feather print neoprene sock liner and a sport-inspired sole, the result is a bold, 21st century shoe.
Tawyer Helix: The Tawyer Helix is the future in our evolutionary story. The collection’s third, boundary pushing shoe that challenges perceptions of modern footwear. Radically twisting the upper’s grey leather panels to open up the sidewalls, we’ve finished the Helix off with a pink sole – giving it that intrinsic Staple aesthetic. More than any of the other shoes in the collection, this is the one that marks Clarks Originals and Staple as conceptual innovators for the future
